Get to Know The Makeup Artist

I was born and raised on the west side of Chicago, where I developed independence and creativity at an early age. Growing up with a significant age gap between myself and my older sibling, I learned how to entertain myself and naturally gravitated toward imaginative play. I have always embraced my femininity spending time playing dress-up, styling dolls, and directing my own “performances.” Even then, I was often described as having an old soul, with a strong interest in beauty, fashion, and transformation.

My passion for makeup began as soon as I was old enough to explore it. I started with simple eyeshadow looks, experimenting with shimmer and glitter, and gradually advanced to working with foundation beginning with a sample from Clinique. Eager to expand my knowledge, I turned to YouTube and followed content creators who shared my complexion, allowing me to better understand product selection and application techniques. Through dedication and self-teaching, I developed a strong foundation in color theory and even learned how to custom-blend foundation shades using primary pigments.

In March 2019, I took a one-on-one lash training course in Chicago, which introduced me to the technical side of the beauty industry. While individual lash application was not my preferred specialty, it led me to discover and develop a passion for strip lashes. I immersed myself in learning about different lash styles, lengths, and terminology, eventually experimenting with various brands. This journey inspired me to create and sell my own lash products, complementing my makeup services and allowing me to build something uniquely my own.

My commitment to growth has led me to gain hands-on experience working with both Ulta and Sephora, where I strengthened my product knowledge and customer service skills. I take pride in helping clients find their perfect shade, shop confidently within their budget, and feel educated about the products they use. Makeup is more than a skill for me it is a true passion and a form of empowerment.

My long-term goal is to become a full-time makeup artist, working with celebrity clients, contributing to film and television productions, and collaborating with major brands on photoshoots. I am also in the process of writing a book to share my journey and inspire others. After relocating to Indianapolis in 2023 and taking a brief step back, I am now fully committed to rebuilding my clientele and establishing my presence in a new market.

I consider myself a reflection of resilience and growth a reminder that humble beginnings can lead to extraordinary outcomes. My journey continues to be fueled by faith, purpose, and a deep desire to inspire others. Everything I do is for my son and for the younger version of myself who dreamed of becoming who I am today.
